Barcelona Museum Demonstration and Lecture – July 2014

This July I had the great pleasure of demonstrating the portrait at the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern in Barcelona. We had a great turn-out of students, artists, tourists, and passersby, and a wonderful model supplied by the Barcelona Academy of Art.

It was a great joy for me, and quite an experience to demonstrate while lecturing and fielding questions from the audience in my rusty Spanish.  The museum itself is quite beautiful, a palace-like building tucked in the old Gothic Quarter, and housing all contemporary figurative art. José Manuel Infiesta, the director of MEAM, was a gracious host, as was Jordi Díaz Alamà, who runs the Barcelona Academy. The demonstration was filmed by JG Guerra, and here is a short clip.
